Note:
The players born in 1996 not selected for the "Reduced Squad" should carry on their training to either continue their development and/or be part of the preparation process for the Under 20 squad over the next 3 years, by attending Level 5 on Saturday session at National Training up to September, then moving to the Under 20 session on Sunday.
The players born in 1997 (as well as the 1998 players that have been invited to attend Sunday sessions) not selected for the "Reduced Squad" must carry on attending National Training if they want to be considered for Project 2013.
All the players not selected for the "Reduced Squad" will become reserve players as long they carry on training. This is in case of injury, discipline issues, etc because player(s) will be replaced.
Players selected in the "Reduced Squad" have to make all the training dates on the Preparation Plan up to the date I announce the Final Squad. The 10 players announced in the Final Squad will have to make every training activity, as shown in the Preparation Plan.
Please ensure you read the Preparation Plan carefully to ensure you are able to commit to this.
If a player cannot commit to the full schedule then I need to be aware now so that I can replace the player.
Open training sessions are being held for any player who would like to be considered for the England Senior Team for the 2012 Internationals.
The sessions will take place at the Bushfields Sports Centre, Peterborough on the 12th February and 11th March 2012. On the 12th February the session will be between 3pm and 6pm, although I would like players to arrive for a pre-training meeting at 2pm.
It has not yet been decided what time the session on the 11th March will be but it is likely that it will be at a similar time to February.
There are two Senior International events this year.
The first is the European’s taking place near Porto between the 9th and 15th September, although this has yet to be confirmed.
The second is the World Group B’s taking place in Montevideo, Uruguay between the 22nd and 29th September.
It is very unlikely that we will be able to do both due to the costs and we are, therefore, considering the World B’s as a priority.
As you will see in the attached preparation plan, we are using the National Training Weekend each month until, and including, July and in August and September adding in a Saturday session at Soham prior to the session at Bushfields on the Sunday. The times will be arranged to ensure that Saturday session will be late in the day and the Sunday session will be in the morning to allow travel at a sensible time.
You will also notice that we are planning to spend time in Madrid en-route to Uruguay for some intensive training which we feel is absolutely essential.
Please let me know if any of you are interested in being part of the England Senior Team for 2012 as soon as possible.
The Preparation Plan for the team can be found here.
